Lincoln-Douglass (LD) Emphasizes Teamwork!
- LD is the perfect combination of lay-man's debate and more progressive argumentation. Basically, you have the freedom to debate however you want and you aren't being limited by event norms
- LD topics change every two months, so you have ample time to really dive into a topic and learn all about it while also having enough variety to keep things interesting.
- LD is sometimes characterized as strictly moral or philosophical debate, but this is only ONE aspect of the event! We dive into all the same argumentation types present in Public Forum and Policy debate, but with an added layer of moral questions. It makes the LD much more interesting because you are able to evaluate arguments in different ways. Don't be scared if you aren't a philosophy buff, we are all beginners and learn together.
- LD is also the only debate event that is 1v1. This means you don't have to rely on someone in round but you get all the benefits of collaborative prep, team support and community. Some say when you join PF and Policy you get one partner, but when you join LD you get 12+ partners :)
